Given his relentless and admirable pursuit of good scientific feynmaan and rationality it amazed me that his assumption was that the female mind was inherently less capable of grasping mathematical principles, without considering that it might be related to differential cultural expectations and upbringing.

He was clearly a genius, but the few insightful observations, witty anecdotes and interesting facts about his life that are captured here do not – in my opinion – make it worth the odd pages.
I love reading Dr. I enjoyed the story and reconciled the egotism with part of the package which allows some people rise way above the pack. I used to sit in the cafeteria with the students and eat and try to overhear their conversations and see if there was one intelligent word coming out.
Those people who have for ears been insisting in the face of all obvious evidence to the contrary that the male and female are equal and capable of rational thought may have something. People are terrified — how can you live and not know? First of all, many of the stories from the books I mentioned above are mentioned in this book, but not elaborated on.
I also enjoyed his recollections of his work on quantum electodynamics while teaching at Cornell University, the work for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics. This book was a let down plwcer to repetitionsome overly technical sections etc. Amazon Advertising Find, attract, and engage customers. I, therefore, did learn a lesson: Really disappointed with this. Write a customer review.
Refresh and try again. Why have placet used “girls” as calculators just to do simple repe I’d have given it a 5 star if there were not so many backward opinions about women in it. I understand it was in its young days and that the methods were not always rigorous, but Feynman’s attitude struck me as one that would alienate someone in that field rather than inspire them to learn more about rigorous scientific practices.

For his contributions to the development of quantum electrodynamics, Feynman was a joint recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics intogether with Julian Schwinger and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga. I would recommend reading them a few years apart when you forget what was in the first book: If it is done in the right way, you may be able to get something out of it.
I listened to a conversation between two girls, and one was explaining that if you want to make a straight line, you see, you go over a certain number to the right for each row you go up, that is, if you go over each time the same amount you go up a row, you make a straight line. The difficulty may just be that we have never yet discovered a way to communicate with the female mind.
English Choose a language for shopping. Felt a slight sting at an apparent attempt to simply bind together yet-unpublished-in-book-form texts, whereever they may be found and sell it with a “by Richard Feynman” tag.
Let me honest and admit here and now that in matters relating to science I am woefully ignorant. I didn’t find Feynman to be that clear of a communicator. Overall, this volume appears to support a cult of ruchard of Feynman, rather than presenting useful information about his life or from his lectures.
Math is a human discovery, and it’s no more complicated than humans can understand” – until you realize when he says people he means men. Feynman shines when he talks about physics, his Lectures books are impressive, masterful, but there’s is very little of that in this book.
Nothing really worth reading. Overall, having been such a fan of Feynman for years, I still remain one, but I’m deeply disappointed at the way one of my role models viewed females.

All the stories are covered in his autobiography. This is case where the phrase “It’s not you it’s me” most definitely applies. People search for certainty. I loved the first part! There was a lot of repetition, better to cut it out and provide me with more of his history or else more of his teachings.
